Our Melting Pot workshops offer arts, crafts and creative workshops from our Lowestoft seafront home, East Point Pavilion.

Starting from February 2026, these relaxed sessions are open for anyone interested in trying something new - no experience needed.

  • Short Form Writing

    10 February, 10.30am - 12pm.

    £5 per person.

    ‘Small but Mighty’ is a playful, practical workshop exploring short-form storytelling—flash fiction, micro fiction, and vignettes. Create multiple original pieces using prompts, objects, images, and found words.

  • Letter 'Folk Art'

    25 February, 10am - 1pm.

    £10 per person.

    Design and paint your own stunning letter. A step-by-step class for beginners inspired by traditional methods of sign-writing; specifically the dazzling folk art of fairground and circus sign-writing. 

  • Vintage Sewing Workshop

    5 March, 10am - 1pm.

    £10 per person.

    Step back in time and discover the joy of sewing on beautiful vintage hand-crank sewing machines — no electricity, just the gentle rhythm of your own handiwork and the sound of the sea outside.

  • Modern Calligraphy Workshop

    18 March, 10.15am - 1.15pm

    £15 per person.

    This workshop is designed for complete beginners. Starting with the basic strokes before moving on to letters and words.

  • Create a Terrarium

    25 March, 1pm - 2.30pm

    £10 per person.

    Learn about the history of the terrarium, the origin of the plants and the science behind the process with plant specialist, Ilex Alba aka Holly White. All participants will go away with their own mini terrarium. All plants included.
